Post Event Photos and Feedback – Closing the Loop: Recycling Horticultural Waste

Feedback

I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to Mr. Jimmy, Mr. BK Tan, and the Malaysian Chapter of PGPR for organizing and hosting a highly informative and successful visit to the Greenville Compost Yard.

It was truly a great and enriching experience. The visit was well-organized, insightful, and inspiring.

Key Learnings and Highlights from the Visit:

  1. Comprehensive Knowledge on Landscape Waste Composting: We gained valuable practical knowledge on how landscape waste, such as leaves, branches and grass clippings, can be systematically converted into nutrient-rich compost, contributing to a circular economy.
  2. In-depth Exposure to Vermicomposting: The demonstration on vermicompost using earthworms was particularly enlightening. We learned about the process, benefits, and its application for soil health.
  3. Understanding of a Model Compost Yard Setup: We were able to understand the key requirements for preparing and managing a good and efficient compost yard, including site selection, layout, machinery, moisture control, and operational workflow.
  4. Commitment to Sustainability: The visit showcased a strong commitment to sustainable waste management and environmental conservation, which is highly commendable and serves as a model for us to emulate.
  5. Excellent Networking Opportunity: The visit also provided a wonderful platform for all participants to get to know each other, exchange ideas, and build connections among like-minded individuals passionate about green practices.
  6. Clear and Passionate Guidance: Special thanks to the team at Greenville for their clear explanations, patient guidance, and willingness to share their expertise and answer all our questions.

Once again, thank you to Mr. Jimmy, Mr. BK Tan, and the Malaysian Chapter PGPR for this meaningful initiative. We look forward to applying this knowledge in our own communities and hope for more such educational programs in the future.

Thank you.
